Geoff Bennett spoke on Deuteronomy 1:19-25, Moses’ recalling the sending of the spies into the land of Canaan in Numbers 13.

Gordon Robertson continued our series on the book of Deuteronomy – this week looking at chapter 33. This chapter contains blessings that Moses gave to the tribes of Israel shortly before his death. Gordon compared these to the blessings that Jacob gave to his sons in Genesis 49. He gave out a handout for easier comparison, that can be seen here (page 1 and page 2).

“This is the blessing that Moses the man of God pronounced on the Israelites before his death. He said:
“The LORD came from Sinai
and dawned over them from Seir;
he shone forth from Mount Paran.
He came with myriads of holy ones
from the south, from his mountain slopes.
Surely it is you who love the people;
all the holy ones are in your hand.
At your feet they all bow down,
and from you receive instruction…” — Deuteronomy 33:1-3 (NIV)

“I will proclaim the name of the LORD. Oh, praise the greatness of our God! He is the Rock, his works are perfect, and all his ways are just. A faithful God who does no wrong, upright and just is he.” — Deuteronomy 32:3-4 (NIV)
