The sermon is on Exodus 32-33 – about the people of Israel making an idol in the form of a golden calf while Moses up on Mount Sinai.

The start of the talk, which is missing from the recording, reminds us of the Ten Commandments given in Exodus 20, and how soon it was after this that the people had built the golden calf.

“You shall have no other gods before me.
“You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. You shall not bow down to them or worship them…” — Exodus 20:3-5a (NIV)

“When the people saw the thunder and lightning and heard the trumpet and saw the mountain in smoke, they trembled with fear. They stayed at a distance and said to Moses, “Speak to us yourself and we will listen. But do not have God speak to us or we will die.”
Moses said to the people, “Do not be afraid. God has come to test you, so that the fear of God will be with you to keep you from sinning”.” — Exodus 20:18-20 (NIV)

The sermon was approximately 21 minutes long. The file is about 9MB.

The sermon was about Exodus 28-29 looking at the Old Testament priesthood, and Jesus as our great high priest.

“Such a high priest meets our need—one who is holy, blameless, pure, set apart from sinners, exalted above the heavens. Unlike the other high priests, he does not need to offer sacrifices day after day, first for his own sins, and then for the sins of the people. He sacrificed for their sins once for all when he offered himself.” — Hebrews 7:26-27 (NIV)

The talk was approximately 35 minutes long. The file is about 15MB.
