Great fun…

…Pompocali proved to be a superb site for our No Adults Allowed picnic and the excellent weather added to the fun.  Find the missing person, the bean bag scrum, frisbee football and many other games provided the entertainment prior to the rope swing and stream!!  “Insufficient time to explore everything” was the only complaint.

Definitely muddy…

A good crowd turned up to begin 2011 in style, avoiding low-flying golf balls, tramping through the mud, helping Molly over styles and gates, watching ducks ice-skate and venturing across the ‘bridge’. Delicious food at Gordon and Clare’s added a perfect finale. Thank you Barry for your excellent leadership once again.

A crafty evening…

Mini Christmas stockings, fancy bags for presents and beautiful table centre pieces were the crafts on offer to all the ladies who braved the weather to enjoy the Christmas Craft Evening.  Delicious desserts were followed by hearing of Adele’s faith in action, especially through the tough times; very thought provoking.

The questions kept coming…

Despite their greatest endeavours the ‘No Adults Allowed’ team were unable to beat the adult teams. A flurry of questions kept everyone alert and ensured the desserts served at the break were much deserved. Aptly named, A1, took the trophy!

A BBQ and a large football!

‘No Adults Allowed’ displayed their culinary skills on the disposable bbqs before heading off to Soldier’s Field for a game of rugby / football / fighting??

That was back in July, the summer holidays gave time to recover (!) and now they’re eagerly awaiting the new term which begins on 19 September and continues thereafter on every ‘teen’ sunday in each month.

In school years 6 – 9?
This is 4U!
Be there or despair!!

A profusion of plants!

The Parochial Hall looked ace full of an amazing array of plants whilst ladies and gentlemen, old and young, a dog and gnomes (!) enjoyed the pleasures of swapping plants, good company and delicious scones with jam and cream.

Not so sunny but great fun!

Sunny scarborough wasn’t quite as sunny as we had hoped for but that didn’t spoil the fun! Plenty of time to talk, games that had us in stitches, thought-provoking teaching, the chance to blow away the cobwebs and perhaps a small amount of jealousy when the kids went off to the Sea Life Centre.

…post weekend comment… “when’s the next one, please?!”

…well actually, it’s booked for 27 – 29 May 2011… …be there or despair!

Ace weekend!

Richmond Camping Barn was the chosen venue for the ‘No Adults Allowed’ weekend of fun! A very wet walk, storming the castle, fish and chip tea, hunt the sheep, “Are we really sleeping in a cow shed?”, bananas as microphones (!) all played their part.  ”Who is this guy?”, “Yikes they’ve killed him”, “Urrh, maybe not…” and “Where is he now?” stimulated lively discussions as the christian faith was explored with vigour!

‘No Adults Allowed’ enjoyed the potter!

Following the usual noisy game and lunch together the pre-teens of ‘No Adults Allowed’ gathered round the pottery wheel to witness Vinny work his magic on a lump of clay – cheese wire, natural sponges, a nail stuck in a cork and plenty of water were used as a master-piece was created. The production of the second pot had them mesmerised as Vinny used the process to illustrate how humans are off-center with their lives and distant from God unable to live as intended, yet how a loving God has given us a way to put our lives back on center and become something beautiful for God. A couple of the pre-teens had the opportunity to create their own pots – I have never seen them concentrate to that degree before! Thanks to Vinny for being a part NAA, it was hugely enjoyed by all.

Vinny returns to Leeds on Thursday 11 March to give the aduts a taste of something similar – please join us in the deli, Roundhay Road, for 7.30pm.
